Chris Moedritzer (GHS '03) - Bulldogs Head Varsity Baseball Coach
Chris Moedritzer joined the Bulldogs coaching staff as a Varsity assistant at Garfield in 2008, before stepping into the Varsity head coach role in 2011. Chris’s deep connection to baseball at GHS started with his own experience playing four years of Varsity baseball for the Bulldogs at right field, second, and first base. Chris also played four years of American Legion baseball in Seattle with the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program, and at the collegiate level at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California.
Recognition and awards
- Metro League Baseball Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2023
- Northwest Baseball Umpires Association Coach of the Year in 2022
- Since 2025, has represented the Metro League on the WIAA 3A state seeding committee
Major baseball coaching influences for Coach Chris include Joe Staton (Garfield, RBI), Randy Town (Claremont), and his fellow coaching colleagues around the Metro League, who provide inspiration and great competition on the baseball diamond every spring. Outside of baseball, Chris is a self-employed personal trainer based in North Seattle, holding multiple professional certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He resides in Seattle's Crown Hill neighborhood with his wife, Lauren, and their two cats.
