Dominic Macanas joined the Bulldogs coaching staff in 2023 as the JVC head coach. Since 2016, Dominic has also coached teen baseball in Seattle through Seattle Central and Rainier District Little Leagues, and in Doylestown, PA. Dominic grew up playing baseball year-round in the warm weather of Hawaii and graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Northwestern University.

I’ve been lucky to have had a lot of amazing baseball coaches growing up, including my dad who I still call for advice during the season. One of the coaches that I aspire to be like is my High School Coach, Coach Lane. His passion for baseball, transparency, empathy, and work ethic is the standard of coaching I strive to emulate.

Outside of the baseball field, Dominic works in Consumer Electronics as a Product Manager and lives in Columbia City with his cat Watson and husband Edward.
